Dr. Kapilan Varatharajah

Dr Kapilan Varatharajah graduated in Medicine from the University of Adelaide and completed his radiology training at Royal Melbourne Hospital, where he was appointed Senior Radiology Registrar before joining as a consultant musculoskeletal and general radiologist. He undertook a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology and intervention at Fowler Simmons Radiology in Adelaide and has served as Head of X-ray at Royal Melbourne Hospital.
His clinical and research interests span the breadth of musculoskeletal imaging, including bone and soft tissue tumours, sports-related injuries, and trauma imaging, with several of his findings published in peer-reviewed journals.Kapilan is also deeply committed to education, regularly teaching radiology registrars, sonographers, and medical students throughout his career. Kapilan performs all musculoskeletal and spinal injections, alongside general biopsies and aspirations. Outside the clinic, Kapilan enjoys travelling with his family, listening to music, and playing soccer.
